Biography

Phil is a Chartered (UK) and European patent attorney with 30 years’ experience in the field of IP. Prior to joining MBIP, Phil was a Partner at a Tier 1 European IP firm and was a former member of the firm’s Management Board. Phil was also the firm’s lead Business Development partner for APAC.

Phil is a PhD Physicist and possesses technical expertise in the fields of holography, lasers, photonics, optoelectronics, mass spectrometry, oil drilling and exploration, optical devices, optical communication systems, medical endoscopes, medical devices, advanced materials, artificial intelligence (AI) and Tobacco Heating Products.

Phil is a regular business traveller to China, Japan, Europe and the US.

Phil is an Australian Permanent Resident and lives in Melbourne, Australia. He is a marathon runner, a Freeman of the City of London and a member of the Aston Martin Owners Club (AMOC).
