Client Spotlight – The Golden Bone Bakery ensure nutritional gold in every bite
In a society that is increasingly health-conscious as well as pet-friendly, it’s no surprise that we’re gradually becoming more aware of what we feed our four-legged friends too.
The Golden Bone Bakery founders Katharina and Reiner have been creating an Australian-made range of natural pet treats since 2015.
The very first Golden Bone recipes were created to suit the duo’s Labrador X Blue Heeler Jett (pictured below with little brother Winston), who has a sensitive tummy. With a background in pharmaceutical sciences and animal husbandry, Katharina wanted to create easily digestible pet snacks and began to research how to formulate recipes for healthier, natural treats.
A love of animals – they deserve better
Meeting growing demand for pet snacks that are free from artificial ingredients, The Golden Bone Bakery created a superfood product range, partnering with veterinary nutrition experts to come up with tasty treats that provide specific nutritional value for dogs. In addition to following the guidelines of the PFIAA (Pet Food Industry Association of Australia), their recipes are low allergy, low in fat and are tested for nutrition levels by Australian independent lab, Symbio Laboratories.
Sustainable packaging
The Golden Bone Bakery made an eco-friendly change to their packaging in 2021. Incorporating brighter and happier colours into the design, it wasn’t just the look of the packaging that was important; they chose to make their packaging fully biodegradable – a pet industry first here in Australia!
The packaging includes a compostable inner bag which may look like plastic, but is really made of plants and will keep pet food fresh.
