Dr Rosemary Manhire-Heath is a registered Patent Attorney in Australia and New Zealand and a registered Australian Trade Marks Attorney.
Rosemary has a PhD in Genetics and Cell biology and a Master of Intellectual Property Law. Rosemary has considerable experience in patent opposition and re-examination proceedings before the Australian Patent Office, litigation support and freedom to operate advice. She is also experienced in Australian and foreign patent prosecution in jurisdictions including, the USA, Canada, Europe, Asia and New Zealand.
Rosemary has an extensive scientific research background covering areas such as genetics, molecular and cell biology, cancer biology and genomics. She has attended many national and international conferences, and presented her work to a range of audiences. Rosemary graduated from The University of Otago in New Zealand with a BSc (Hons) majoring in Biochemistry and Genetics. She then went on to complete a PhD in Genetics and Cell Biology from the Australian National University. Rosemary’s PhD involved identifying genes and novel signalling pathways involved in regulating cell differentiation and motility, to further understand the genetics behind tumour progression. After completing her PhD she then worked as a postdoctoral scientist in the Genetics Department at the University of Melbourne continuing on with the work she established during her PhD.
