Biography

Dr Ellen Reid has experience in Australian and foreign patent prosecution, litigation support and freedom to operate advice. She also has experience in Australian and foreign trade mark filing and prosecution. Ellen is a registered Patent Attorney in Australia and New Zealand and a registered Australian Trade Marks Attorney.

Ellen graduated from La Trobe University with a Bachelor of Arts majoring in legal studies and a Bachelor of Science majoring in Chemistry. She then went on to complete an honours year in forensic science and a PhD in Electrochemistry. Ellen’s PhD was conducted under the joint supervision of La Trobe University and the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO). Her PhD research concerned novel complexes of platinum, iridium and cadmium for electro chemiluminescent based sensing applications. This research has been published in a number of high impact chemistry journals and has been presented at numerous national and international conferences.
