Founded in 2021, beverage brand mYmosa is a nod to the lifestyle philosophy “that we should all live life as if it is bottomless” from two Brisbane communications professionals.
Branding experts Bec Pini and Amanda Goddard were inspired by a trip they had taken to New York some years prior to COVID-19, and their vision for their product came about during COVID lockdown: a sustainable, high quality, Australian-made sparkling beverage in a can.
If you’re a lover of the traditional mimosa and someone that usually finds either champagne or orange juice in your fridge, but not both, then mYmosa might be the answer to your problems. Alternatively, if you love making the most of sipping mimosas outdoors at brunch picnics or BBQs and aren’t so fond of lugging around multiple bottles, then the convenience of the compact design is ideal!
Convenience is not the only thing mYmosa has going for it. Earlier last year, the Brisbane duo was thrilled to find out their beloved beverage was awarded Bronze for taste and Silver for design at the 2023 World Drink Awards. The awards launched in 2007 and are the global awards selecting the very best in all internationally recognised styles of drinks, through blind tasting by an expert panel of judges – so you know they’ve got good taste.
mYmosa’s 250-millilitre cans are vegan and gluten-free, available for purchase from their online store and over the counter at more than 25 stockists, not to mention they are also available at several of Brisbane’s best food venues.
While the brand launched with one variety, Goddard and Pini are working through new fun formulations.
There are common misconceptions about relying on unregistered rights. Essentially, it is more complicated, time consuming and expensive to enforce rights in an unregistered trade mark, as compared to enforcing rights in a registered trade mark.
Fortunately, the team behind mYmosa knew that one of the many benefits of a trade mark registration is that it typically provides broader protection in terms of the scope of goods or services and geographical reach, thanks to a visit from our trade marks team. Their registered trade mark provided mYmosa with exclusive rights to the trade mark throughout all states and territories of Australia. Further, their trade mark registration is a valuable business asset which retains its own value and can be sold or licensed to interested parties.
We have assisted multiple Australian beverage brands including local alcoholic beverage producers with their trade mark applications. If you’re looking to protect your beverage IP, contact one of our trade mark attorneys for an obligation free consultation on 07 3369 2226 or email email@example.com.
