Hearing health is at the heart of Audeara’s success

In 2015, Audeara began as a startup co-founded by doctors Dr James Fielding and Dr Chris Jeffery and engineer Alex Afflick. Today (Tuesday 18 May 2021), Audeara listed on the ASX (ASX AUA).

The trading debut is an exciting milestone for the Brisbane-based hearing technology company that plans to expand internationally after its IPO.

When the company launched their innovative headphones six years ago, they initially planned to sell to the consumer electronics market, competing with giants including Apple and Bose.

Going back to their medical origins and selling into audiology clinics helped solidify their success. Dr Fielding maintains that their headphones are not a medical device but are designed to improve the entertainment listening experience for people with hearing loss. The aim of their hearing profile algorithm is to address hearing issues by measuring and personalising the sound output to the needs of the individual.

MBIP has had the pleasure of working with Audeara since before their early crowdfunding days to make sure their IP rights were secured and protected.

Congratulations to the Audeara team! We can’t wait to see what you do next.
