Geraldine Rimmer

Geraldine’s experience as a trade mark practitioner commenced in 2001. Prior to joining MBIP, Geraldine worked for two well known Brisbane firms, where she gained over a decade of experience in trade mark law. Geraldine’s work has involved serving a diversity of clients including multinational corporations, wineries, cosmetic companies, car manufacturers, food and beverage manufacturers, medical appliance developers and also a variety of local businesses.

Geraldine specialises in the filing and prosecution of trade mark applications both in Australia and overseas to maximise the value of the resulting intellectual property right. Her work involves due diligence, trade mark searching, overcoming examination reports and also contentious areas such as oppositions and dispute resolution. Geraldine is experienced in handling Hearings before the Trade Marks Office and the supervision of trade marks portfolios of companies throughout Australia.

Geraldine enjoys working with innovative clients, assisting them with their branding strategies and general IP protection. She is also pleased to help accountants and lawyers who do not specialise in IP, assist their clients to secure the best possible IP protection and provide guidance on commercial strategies.

For her outstanding work, Geraldine has been recognised as a top individual practitioner for trade mark prosecution and strategy (Australia) in the World Trade mark Review’s WTR1000 rankings for 2020-2025 (inclusive).
