His expertise spans from initial brand clearance searches and trade mark prosecution through to trade mark portfolio management and enforcement of rights, including in opposition and removal proceedings, trade mark infringement matters, breaches of the Australian Consumer Law and domain name disputes.

His extensive experience with all things trade marks in conjunction with a strategic and commercially-minded approach to assisting his clients, has seen him represent brand owners across a wide variety of industries and of all sizes, including globally recognised brands.
Before joining MBIP, Jarrod worked as an intellectual property lawyer and trade marks attorney at three of Australia’s largest intellectual property firms, in the areas of trade marks, copyright, domain names and Australian Consumer Law. This experience included both contentious and transactional work. Before working in private practice, Jarrod was a Judge’s Associate in the Federal Circuit Court of Australia, providing him with invaluable experience in assisting clients with contentious matters.
Jarrod is also a regular contributor to the profession, with local and international publications, industry presentations, attendance at global conferences and a strong network of international colleagues.
