Reit is a Trade Marks Attorney registered to practice in Australia and New Zealand. Originally from the Netherlands, she hold degrees in Law and Criminal Law from Leiden University and the Erasmus University Rotterdam respectively.
Having worked in the legal profession for more than ten years she focused her practice on trade mark law since 2018. Reit is passionate about helping businesses protect, enforce, and grow their brands with smart, commercially minded IP strategies. Her clients value her proactive, strategic approach and ability to simplify complex trade mark and branding issues into practical advice that supports commercial outcomes.
Since relocating to Australia in 2017, she has held key roles in both boutique IP practices and full-service law firms, giving her a well-rounded understanding of how IP fits within broader legal and business frameworks.
Prior to moving to Australia permanently, Reit worked for a leading European IP firm. Advising a wide range of clients–from startups to established international companies–across sectors with their IP rights. Her areas of expertise include related opposition proceedings and dispute resolution, IP audits, setting up tailored brand protection and portfolio management strategies, clearance searches and risk assessment reports. Reit also specialises in providing legal IP documents including Deeds of Assignment and Confidentiality Deeds or Agreements, infringement matters, and cease and desist letters and responses
