Phillip is a mechanically minded patent and design specialist with a hands-on background in mechanical engineering and more than 20 years’ experience advising on intellectual property protection.

Phillip specialises in mechanical and electromechanical technologies, with particular strength across automotive, aeronautics, heavy transport, mining equipment, and complex engineered systems. His career began with roles in military aviation maintenance and special purpose machine design, giving him a practical understanding of how technology works in the real world and enabling him to quickly grasp new inventions and articulate them clearly and effectively for IP protection.

Known for his pragmatic, straight‑talking approach, Phillip regularly advises on Australian and international patent and design portfolios and has experience guiding clients through the full lifecycle of intellectual property—from early‑stage concept development to enforcement and commercialisation.

Outside work, Phillip describes himself as “obsessed by all things mechanical”—particularly anything with wheels, wings, or an engine—an enthusiasm that continues to shape his connection with engineers, inventors, and problem‑solvers.
